Crowns & Bridges

Crowns and bridges are forms of restorative dentistry that aid in re-establishing the normal function and appearance of your teeth.

Crowns

A crown is a cap used to cover a tooth to help to improve the strength and appearance of the tooth. Crowns are usually suggested after a root canal has been done or if you have a large restoration (filling) done on a tooth. A crown can be made of gold or other similar metals, porcelain, or a combination of the two. At Cloudnine Dental, we will discuss the options with you to determine the type of crown you need.

Crowns typically require two appointments. At the first appointment, your tooth will be prepped and an impression will be taken and sent to a lab where they will make your crown. At the second appointment, we will try on your crown. If you like the appearance, we will cement it in.

Bridges

A bridge is a grouping of connected crowns that replace one or more missing teeth in a row. Your dentist will discuss if you are a good candidate for a bridge. A bridge is a more permanent solution to replacing a missing tooth because it is cemented in place and is not removable like a denture or flipper.

Bridges typically require two appointments. At the first appointment, the teeth on each side of the missing tooth/teeth will be prepped, and an impression will be taken and sent to a lab where they will make your bridge. At the second appointment, we will try on your bridge. If you like the appearance, we will cement it in.
